Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has just been unveiled, and it is the successor to XZ2 which was recently seen at the MWC 2018. Sony went all out with this device as the XZ2 premium, features top of the line specs like the Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4K HDR TRILUMINOS™ Display which is also HDR 10 compliant, the Motion™ Eye Dual camera and looks like it will live up to its “Premium” name. Sony has not yet revealed the price details or the exact date for when the device will be available apart from this that it will be available in Summer 2018.
The 4K HDR display of the XZ2 premium which will feature Sony’s X-Reality engine is going to give the “Ultimate Experience.” Photos and Videos are going to be a joy to watch on this with “crystal-clear detail and eye-popping color.” The device is also capable of up-scaling SD content “to nearly 4K resolution and close to High Dynamic Range (HDR),”
Look and Feel
“We wanted to bring the most advanced technological developments together in a seamless form. The Xperia XZ2 Premium is encased in curved 3D glass and with an aluminum frame and a mirror-like chrome finish.” Xperia design team
Xperia XZ2 goes for the classy look, with the slightly curved 3-D glass back and the Aluminum casing all with an exclusive glass and metal finish. The device though is very bulky and weighs about 236 gm, which might be uncomfortable for many people and it will most likely go to be a big fingerprint magnet.
The Motion Eye dual camera setup is done vertically and placed in the top center of the device just above the fingerprint sensor. Sony has utilized some of the latest techs which were previously only seen in their Camera’s.
“Its large sized dual sensors and dedicated AUBE™ fusion image signal processor are engineered to capture more than the human eye can see.”
Its dual sensor system and AUBE™ processor can take clear pictures even in ultra low light conditions and make it possible to record videos in 4K HDR.
Even though Sony has put in front firing stereo speakers and LDAC thinking it makes up for the missing headphone jack, but it doesn’t. I feel like they could’ve put in one as they didn’t go for the bezel-less look on top of that the big bulky device surely could’ve handled it. Apart from this, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is a beast.
The device is going to be available in Chrome Black, Chrome Silver and will be available in Summer 2018.
