More than a week ago, a possible Sony Xperia XZ1 model was spotted on GeekBench. On 8th August, a new benchmark revealed a couple of new details. Including the supposed screen size, as well as both cameras’ megapixel count.

Read here to know what new features can you expect in the next Xperia model.

New Features of Sony Xperia XZ1:

The XZ1 is of course expected to be the successor of the XZ that was released last year September.

It follows that the Xperia XZ1 will have the Snapdragon 835 processor and 4 GB of RAM. However, the big difference here is that the device is tipped to come with Android 8.0, with a caption underneath stating “Android Sony Edition.”

On the Xperia XZ1, the fingerprint scanner has been mounted at the rear, right below the NFC logo. The front of the device is relatively clean, with no buttons whatsoever. Of course, the bezels aren’t very thin when compared to other devices, but we have to keep in mind that the Xperia XZ1 will not be a flagship device.

The XZ1 will have the model number of G8341 supposedly. Benchmarks have also been made from it, and it seemed pretty promising.

The listing further goes on to suggest that the device will feature a 5.1-inch full HD display, and will offer 64GB of internal storage. The device has been reported to sport a 19MP rear camera along with a 13MP front shooter. The smartphone is also further rumored to carry support for super-slow motion video recording.

According to the leaked images, the XZ1 is supposed to have the “same old large bezels” on the sides and the top/bottom of the front.

When will the phone be released?

Sony is expected to launch three new smartphones on August 31 during the IFA, 2017 in Berlin. The new flagship XZ1 may be unveiled at the event along with its sister the Xperia XZ1 Compact.

The latter is believed to be a bezel-less offering by Sony and is further rumored to come equipped with a 6-inch ‘Full Active’ display, with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
