Its been hardly a year since the Xbox One X came out and there are already speculations, rumors and even confirmed details about the next Xbox Console.
The next Xbox is called Xbox Project Scarlett. It’s a development cycle name which would not be official. The next Xbox console has a vague release date of 2020. In fact, Phil Spencer, the Xbox Chief, said himself that Microsoft was working on the next Xbox Console.
“Our hardware team is deep into developing the next generation of Xbox consoles, where we will once again deliver on our commitment to set the benchmark for console gaming,” said Spencer at E3 2018.
Spencer’s emphasis on the word ‘consoles’ has led to the assumption that not one, but various Xbox consoles will be released, all targeted at the different class of audiences.

One of the leaked Xbox Console is called Xbox Project Scarlett Cloud. It is a game streaming device which will be somewhat similar to Nvidia shield. The concept is to remove the substantial processing power from the machine itself and put it in a remote server. The user can then access the remote server via the cloud and play games. Xbox Project Scarlett Cloud will be way cheaper than the next Xbox, but the user will have to pay a monthly subscription fee for it. It can be dubbed as ‘Netflix for Games‘.
The processing power of Xbox Project Scarlett will be at par with the top-notch gaming PCs of today. It will have native 4K support and will run on 60 fps. The advanced processing power of the console will be best used for the upcoming intensive games such as Cyberpunk 2077 or The Elder Scrolls VI which is aimed at the next generation of consoles.
Talking about the price, it can be assumed that the console will be launched at $399 or around that figure if the price of the previous consoles is anything to go by. The Xbox Project Scarlett Cloud will be significantly cheaper.
