HTC U11 vs Samsung Galaxy S8
HTC has just announced the launch of its new flagship phone, HTC U11. SAMSUNG Galaxy S8 is by far best phone of 2017, but HTC’s new U11 could be about to give it a serious run for its money. Here is the comparison between the two – HTC U11 vs. Samsung Galaxy S8.
Similarities
Both the flagship phone has the following same quality:
- 4 GB of RAM.
- 64 GB Internal Storage capacity.
- Android 7 (Nougat) Operating system.
- 3000maH capacity Non-removable battery.
Differences
-
Size and Build
Regarding size, the HTC U11 falls somewhere between the smaller Galaxy S8 and larger S8+. Even so, it is the widest of the bunch. However, the S8 series phones are relatively tall and narrow, which helps keep them portable and easy to hold in one hand.
Like the Galaxy S8, the HTU U11 is made of glass, and there’s no doubting that its design oozes class. However, this all glass finish can be a big issue if it slips from your hand. So, HTC has also added a protective case just for your need.

-
Design and Display
Samsung has brought in a new look to its phone – a bezel-free design with an edge-to-edge display. On the other hand, the HTC U11 is very similar to the existing HTC U Ultra. The craftsmanship of the S8 is impressive enough, but ever more so when you compare it to the HTC U11. The only disadvantage of S8 is its fingerprint scanner at the back. The U11 has a better accessibility with the scanner at the front.
The S8 series’ so-called Infinity Displays maximize the space on the front of the phone, fitting in more screen area. The HTC U11 offers only a little 5.5-inch display where the S8 has a display size of 5.8 inches. Also, S8 wins with its Super AMOLED Quad HD+ display quality.

-
Processor
While Samsung has its Exynos 8895 processor, HTC offers the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. With a better clock speed of 2.4 GHz, we can expect a better performance from the HTC U11.
-
Camera
Both phones offer a 12 mp rear camera with Led flash. However, HTC goes over the top with Ultra pixel facility. Also, HTC offers double size of front camera – 16 MP – in compared of to S8 8 MP at the front.

-
Bixby vs. Alexa
Samsung had brought in Bixby with S8 but with too many flaws and didn’t win our hearts. To make matters worse for Samsung, the HTC U11 includes Amazon’s voice-powered Alexa smart assistant. This will allow users to chat to the U11 and get a range of answers including news updates, weather reports and access to music.
Some Other Features of HTC U11
The new HTC U11 is the world’s first squeezable smartphone with Edge Sense Technology. The Taiwanese tech firm says it wants to change the way people use their smartphones. The HTC U 11 features pressure-sensitive sensors on the side of the device which allows it to perform tasks such as taking a photo simply by squeezing it.
Also, HTC has followed Apple’s lead and has ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack from the U11. Even though there’s an adaptor in the box, some users will find the lack of this port hugely irritating. Luckily, HTC is softening the blow by including noise canceling in-ear headphones in the box. These mini music makers plug straight into the USB-C port which also provides the power they need to block out sound without needing them to be charged.
