Ever since OnePlus 5 was launched around the middle of 2017, OnePlus fans around the globe have been desperately waiting for OnePlus 5T. Following last year’s pattern, there was a sense of optimism that the Carl Pei led company would follow up the grand success of OnePlus 5 with an improved OnePlus 5T just as it did with On Plus 3T after the launch of OnePlus 3.
Well, it seems like D-Day is near.
After a series of leaks and teasers by none other than OnePlus’s global director Carl Pei himself, the awaited handset from OnePlus has set its eyes on November 16th as the day it presents itself to the world. Here we take look at what OnePlus is likely to bring to the table with its new handset.
Bezel Less Beauty
OnePlus is expected to follow the bandwagon of manufacturers opting for infinity display with the 5T and it is likely going to come with a 6-inch HD+ display mapped to 18:9 aspect ratio. Smartphone lovers are in for a treat here with a 2K resolution on an AMOLED panel. The aluminum body is going to be retained but the fingerprint sensor will find its place in the rear unlike OnePlus 5 to give way for a bezel-less display and a thin chin.
We were expecting OnePlus to never settle with the already impressive camera of OnePlus 5 and it seems like neither were they. The new handset is rumored to arrive with an improved 20 + 20-megapixel dual camera set up on the rear side and a 20-megapixel front snapper for stunning selfies in the front. There is, however, a subtle speculation about a dual front camera setup but that may just be a wild rumor.
Under the Hood
Powering the 5T is going to be the same Snapdragon 835 that we have seen in the OnePlus 5 with 2 variants of 6 and 8 GB DDR4 RAM can be expected. The device will run Android Oreo out of the box to complement its impressive hardware. The battery is tipped to have a minor improvement to 3500 mAh from 3300 mAh of the OnePlus 5.
At this point in time it best to take all the news with a pinch of salt as all there has been about OnePlus 5T are some titillating tweets from Carl Pei and CEO Pete Lau about some impressive camera shots and some leaks from various benchmarking websites. November 16 is the day all need to wait for and oh yes! Keep that Amazon App updated from play store as the OnePlus 5T is going to be an Amazon Exclusive.
