a never before android mobile : OnePlus Never Settle

From day one , the Chinese manufacturer has committed to provide the best in terms of balanced “design VS performance” device. Single line about OnePlus 3 (OP3 from here) is “A Monster in a Coop”. OnePlus has growing user base and huge fan base as how it was for Nokia and now for Apple.

The Muscle

The Maiden OP1 and the craftsmanship OP2 were well built models. But on spec sheet, the OP3 has scored ultimately high. The Monster’s heart made of Snapdragon 820 (Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo) pushes visuals on 1080p – 401ppi display with massive Adreno 530 GPU. This chipset is capable of running your day complete, whether it’s a high intense gaming or multitasking, thanks to the 6GB RAM coupled with 64GB internal storage. It’s common in cheap segment phones to have expandable storage, but it would be for the second SIM the team have skipped the expansion, whatever you’re stuck with limited storage. The company has listened to their users (fans), have equipped what OP2 has missed with, NFC is back and ready for payments.

The View

This beast’s eye can snap crisp sharp images with 16MP rear camera powered by Sony sensor and 8MP selfie snapper. Rear camera is capable of recording 2160p@30fps, 720p@120fps and Auto HDR, while selfie snapper can record movements in Full HD. The device is capable of capturing RAW and have an in-built manual mode camera app. This year OP has left IPS LCD for AMOLED, which is better for VR and saves your battery juice even when proximity wake, ambient display are enabled. The Roar

OnePlus has decided to withdraw MaxxAudio equalizer which OP2 have shipped with. The company has removed the DSP from recently released OxygenOS 3.0.2 which powers the OP3. OP2, OP1 and yet to be updated OPX will also use Dirac HD Sound. This audio tech company claims that “Dirac HD Sound® enhances an audio system’s ability to faithfully reproduce sound by examining and adjusting for the problems inherent to the mechanical devices”. According to users the new DSP fair plays with headphones and loudspeakers and some users found it is no good than the MaxxAudio Tuner.

The Brain

Oxygen OS 3.0.2 which powers the device is a forked version of Android Marshmallow. This custom OS gives a stock android feel as there are no skin, or bloatwares installed. Though, the OS is common for all four devices , features may vary, this custom OS has some minor tweaks including:

stock android, what else nexus users ?

Shelf – A place where the user can add quick actions which includes widgets, favorite contacts and recent apps.

Dark Mode – This enables a system wide dark theme (may not applicable for few system settings).

Night Mode – It is some what unfinished feature that imitates Apple’s Night shift in iOS. (OP3 only)

Double tap – Double tap power switch opens camera.

Icon theme – OnePlus launcher which looks exactly like google now launcher allows icon themes.

with OnePlus 3, stand out from the crowd

Virtual buttons – Users can enroll onscreen buttons or can use hardware buttons.

Ambient display : Wakes up screen for notifications

Proximity wake up : Wakes up screen if you wave your hand over mobile.

Manual Mode Camera : Capture images with the manual focus, ISO, white balance, shutter speed and RAW support.

and more advantages you can get from the stock feel OS.

design : love with a gadget at first sight

Overall Build

OnePlus 3
I would say that, the design and software features are not original, they are very familiar to us. Device’s design is a mix of HTC, Samsung, Apple and on software side, tweaks and some features are existing in Apple’s iOS and Motorola phones, but, the way OnePlus has handled it is brilliant. Oneplus has refined every bit of their borrows and let the originals a run for concepts.
