Samsung is going to officially launch its next flagships, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked on February 21. The event is taking place at Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB) in Barcelona, Spain and it starts at 7.00 PM CET though visitors will be allowed in starting from 6.00 PM itself.
Samsung has already roled out press invites for the Unpacked 2016 event but fans who are interested can watch the event live on www.youtube.com/SamsungMobile. A teaser video has also been released in the SamsungMobile youtube channel that has created much of a hype.
This event will be followed by a special event at San Francisco and New York on February 22 where they are gonna launch the next generation Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge+ . Samsung has also portrayed its VR gear in the teaser video making Galaxy Unpacked 2016 nothing short of a bonanza.
Coming to specifications, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge features a 5.1-inch and curved 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED displays(1440 x 2560 resolution) respectively. Both the devices are powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 for international users and Exynos 8890 for select markets like India, coupled to 4 GB of RAM. These flagships comes with 20MP rear camera and 8MP front facing camera for selfies. It supports Dual SIM, micro SD card and it also has USB Type-C port that allows reversible charging. Whats more exciting is that the new S7 and S7 Edge is also expected to come with a retina scanner(aka Iris scanner) along with the finger print scanner for enhanced security. Both devices run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will hit the user market on march 11 this year.
