If you like borderless smartphones, the date to mark on the calendar is June 12th. This will be, in fact, the day of the official presentation of the new Vivo Apex, which is announced as the most borderless smartphone ever seen so far.
The Vivo Apex concept display, which Vivo brought to the MWC exhibition, occupied 98% of the front panel area. At least this was insisted by the company’s representatives. There were practically no grounds for not trusting them, because of the size of the display, engineers had to abandon the physical dynamics and integrate the front camera into the upper end in the manner of the periscope.
Vivo Apex Specs and Review
It is expected that the commercial sample will not be much different from the engineering version. The smartphone will receive a 6-inch display with fingerprint reader integrated under the display, a Snapdragon 845 processor and 8 GB of RAM. Surprisingly, the manufacturer did not follow the general fashion and left a 3.5 mm socket on the device case.
The camera problem is a rather more difficult solution, and that of Vivo seems only temporary. Let’s talk about a retractable camera, which comes out of the body through a motorized mechanism. It works, undoubtedly, but introduces a series of possible complications. First of all the duration of time, and then the resistance, not to mention the lack of practicality of having to wait every time to exit the sensor. This inhibits, among other things, any facial unblocking system: it is not a critical condition, but it is nevertheless a limit.
Vivo Apex Launch Date
The presentation of the novelty, according to confirmed information, will be held on June 12. The release of the smartphone is scheduled to coincide with the opening of the World Cup, which will be held in 11 cities of Russia in the period from June 14 to July 15, inclusive. Given that Vivo is the official sponsor of mundialya, you can expect that the domestic retail smartphone will get the earliest.
